ANOTHER HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! Páirc Festival are thrilled to announce that the legendary The Waterboys will be headlining Páirc Festival on Sunday 27th August.
We are so excited this incredible group will be joining the line-up – few bands have as great a live reputation as The Waterboys. From their 1980s “big music” period, through to the influential mix of Celtic, gospel and country on their classic Fisherman’s Blues tours, to hundreds of brilliant shows, The Waterboys have consistently blended tightness, inspiration and improvisation to reach incredible performance heights. Their legacy and status as music icons is reflected in the many varied artists that have covered their music catalogue, including Prince, The Killers, U2, Rod Stewart and Tom Jones.
Led by mercurial and brilliant Scottish guitarist/vocalist Mike Scott, the 2023 version of the band features Memphis keyboard great “Brother” Paul Brown, ace British drummer Ralph Salmins and funky Irish bassman Aongus Ralston, The Waterboys will be joining a Páirc line-up that includes Van Morrison, Derek Ryan, All Folk’d Up and Ceol, with more performers and Irish national treasures to be announced.
Páirc Festival 2023 is the biggest celebration of Irish music and culture and alongside our incredible lineup there will be street food, market stalls, outdoor bars and MORE coming to Birmingham over the August Bank Holiday Weekend!
