The Fureys play Páirc Festival on Sunday 27th August, taking place on the outdoor grounds of The New Irish Centre, Birmingham.
We are thrilled to announce The Fureys will be joining the Páirc Sunday lineup in our Legends slot! The biggest celebration of UK music and culture in the UK just got bigger!
The Fureys will play Páirc Festival on Sunday 27th August. They will be joining a Sunday line up that includes The Waterboys, Nathan Carter, The High Kings, Ceol, The Legend of Luke Kelly, On the Sesh and Ash Sheehan.
Known as one of the most acclaimed and influential middle of the road, folk and traditional bands in Ireland, The Fureys have become the soundtrack to many lives with classics such as I Will Love You, The Green Fields of France and When You Were Sweet 16.
Headed up by Eddie and George Furey, The Fureys musical footprint tells personal stories of their musical experiences and friendships.
They have gone on to inspire generations with their music; Eddie Furey said: “many musicians have told us we influenced them after hearing a record from their parents or grandparents’ collection.” Dave Stewart from The Eurythmics credited Eddie for teaching him his first chords on the guitar back when he was working in a theatre in Newcastle!
Páirc Festival can’t wait to see The Fureys come to Birmingham and take to the stage over the August Bank Holiday Weekend!
