Nathan Carter

Bio

RETURNING to Páirc Festival in 2023 is Nathan Carter!

Naturally, Nathan was hugely popular when he headlined on the Sunday of Páirc 2022, and we expect the same reception this August. He’s been dubbed Ireland’s leading country singer, with 6 Irish number one albums and a UK top 20 hit Beautiful Life.

Nathan Carter was born in Liverpool, but was surrounded by Irish influences from a young age, with his family roots in Newry, County Down.

During his teenage years, he made regular trips to Ireland for music competitions (Fleadh Cheoil) and won all-Ireland medals for solo singing and piano accordion.

This shaped who he is as a performer now, moving to Ireland in 2010 and finding success in 2012 with hit song Wagon Wheel. Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength, with Nathan even hosting his own show on RTE, The Nathan Carter Show.

Famous guests on his show include Mel C, Billy Ocean, Martine McCutcheon, Curtis Stigers, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and many more. He’s even sung for the Pope twice – once with the Liverpool Boys Choir aged 11, and in 2018, he was invited to sing again during the Pope’s Ireland visit.

His most recent album, The Morning After, was released in December 2022, and we can’t wait to hear tunes from this, and other Nathan Carter favourites, including Wagon Wheel, Blanks Of The Roses and Temple Bar on the Páirc Festival stage again!
